Career/Experience

My name is Henar Chico, and I am a native Spanish speaker from Bilbao, Spain. Boise has been my home for the last 11 years (except for the two years I spent in Chicago). I moved to Boise right after I finished my degree in English Philology from the University of Deusto. Translating is a great passion of mine and has been for a number of years. Over the last three years especially I have done a number of translations on a variety of topics for a local company by the name of Cervantes Translations. I have also worked on a number of jobs for several government offices in Idaho, as well as a few private companies, such as Proclarity (now Microsoft). I frequently collaborate with the translation and/or revision of the EITB.com website (Basque radio and television, in Spain). In addition, I continue to develop my translation skills by working towards advanced translation certifications such as the one I'm currently enrolled in with Estudio Sampere (in Madrid, Spain).
I am more than happy to share some of the translations with you if you are interested.

As I look to the future I hope to help businesses communicate with their target audience and feel good about it, knowing that their message is coming across clearly and professionally in Spanish as well as English.
