I am a German national and have been living in the UK since 1990. In 1994 I was awarded the Diploma in English for International Communication at the Institute of Linguists and in 1996 gained Qualified Teacher Status in Modern Foreign Languages.

From May 1999 until October 2000 I worked as a freelance translator for Cosworth Technology, Northampton, UK (owned by the Audi/Volkswagen Group and specialising in high performance engines), during which time I regularly translated technical documents from both English into German as well as from German into English.

I have also completed a range of freelance translations for a number of companies, including a technical golfing brochure, an installation manual for heating systems, a tourist guide for Althorp House and an advertising brochure for SHW Automotive, Bad Schussenried, GERMANY.

Furthermore, I am now working freelance for several translation agencies (Germany / UK / Austria) and have been able to expand my area of expertise into many other fields.

Ich bin gebürtige Deutsche, wohne aber seit über 22 Jahren in England. 1990 kam ich im Rahmen meines Studiums (Anglistik und Japanologie) an der Universität Trier als Fremdsprachenassistentin nach Northampton und entschied mich, hierzubleiben. 1994 schloss ich erfolgreich das "Diploma in English for International Communication" am Institute of Linguists in London ab (entspricht einem Universitätsabschluss erster Klasse) und erwarb 1996 den "Qualified Teacher Status", um Deutsch und Französisch zu unterrichten.

Während der Jahre 1999 und 2000 arbeitete ich regelmässig als freiberufliche Übersetzerin für Cosworth Technology Ltd. in Northampton (Audi/VW-Gruppe), wo ich meist technische Übersetzungen vornahm, sowohl aus dem Englischen ins Deutsche wie auch aus dem Deutschen ins Englische. Seit 1999 habe ich jedoch auch für verschiedenste andere Firmen übersetzt, unter anderem eine technische Golfbroschüre, ein Installationshandbuch für Heizsyteme und einen Fremdenführer für Althorp House. Mittlerweile bin ich auch als freiberufliche Mitarbeiterin bei mehreren Übersetzungsagenturen (Deutschland / Grossbritannien / Österreich) tätig und habe meine Erfahrungen als Übersetzerin in viele andere Bereiche ausweiten können.
