Over 30 years experience in translating between English, Hindi, Latin, Bengali, French and other languages as well as
Transcreation (script to audio dialogue/ novel to screenplay/ short story to movie script,etc) and transliteration.
I am a TOEFL teacher (Teacher of English as a Foreign Language), and also teach Science, French and Hindi. Occasionally I am invited by colleges as a guest lecturer.
I am also a professional photographer(with a fully-equipped manual and digital studio specialising in advertising and fashion portfolios), and business consultant, handling online photo assignments and offering comprehensive professional business services in India. A childhood spent in several different countries in the Americas and Europe as well as different regions of India has given me proficiency and confidence with various languages.
For my abiding knowledge and interest in the French and Latin languages, I shall ever be indebted to Mr. Roger M. Isaacs, my French Master at Queens College, Georgetown, Guyana (then British Guiana) and to Mr. Claude Yearwood, my Latin Master.
My love for the Bengali language must be squarely blamed on the magical inspiration of that fascinating city - Calcutta.
I consider both English and Hindi my native languages.
The mere ability to speak or read other languages is not, I believe, sufficient qualification to become a translator. Translation is not limited to a word by word processing, it must involve a culturally sensitive rendition of the intent behind the words too. It is my firm opinion that a translator must translate only INTO his native language from another, and never vice versa.
For this reason, I offer translations only into Hindi and English, because I have complete confidence in my ability to express ideas in these two languages with professional perfection.
