Geea (a guest user) asked this question:

Language pair:

French > English

Subject:

Medical

Level of diffculty:

Easy / medium

Word or term in question:

sphère abdominale

Context:

c'est surtout important de ne pas avoir d'incidence sur la sphère abdominale et sexuelle

Keywords:

referring to an antidepressant medication - "abdominal sphere" sounds way too literal. does this just mean something like "reproductive organs"? TIA (thanks in advance)

abdominal region

My comment:

I would go for "abdominal region" as would someone on Linguee:

La néphrologie, la sphère abdominale, la psychologie, l'ORL étaient relativement stables en fonction
Nephrology, abdominal region, psychology and EENT were fairly stable relating to the age of the patient
http://www.linguee.fr/francais-anglais/traduction/sph%E8re+orl.html

Certainly I think it will include that part of the GI tract in the region, for example, and not just be restricted to any reproductive organs there.
