I have already come across these terms, plsu I am an Arabic native speaker..

My references:

my experience and the fact of being a native speaker. I already studied in primary school and that's how we call it..Good luck

كنت أود أن أقيم ما ساهم به الأخ مصطفي ولم أفق وأوافق على ما طرحه.
ويطلق في بعض البلدان اسم مدرسة أساس.
وفي الماضي كانت تسمى المدرسة الأولية وأيضاً الابتدائية
وفي العديد من التراجم الدولية تستخدم جميع تلك المصطلحات للدلالة على هذه المدارس

In Arab countries, it usually refers to schools housing classes for grades 1 - 6.

Sometimes, it can mean:
التعليم الأساسي
or compulsory education. In this case, and in most Arab countries, it refers to grades 1 - 12.
