English > Hausa: Subtitles for a film
This project is the translation of subtitles for a film from English to Hausa. There are about 8,000 words in the script of English subtitles that has been prepared.
The nature of film is the critical facet of the project however. It is a compelling film which may help change the terms of engagement in this years negotiations on a climate change treaty. It is not a lucrative project since there is not a big budget for the translation and we are attempting to get 32 different language translations so the film will be accessible to a large number of people around the world. So we are looking for someone who's personal convictions will allow them to do this job for a lot less than the 'going rate', since the outcome is so crucial for the welfare of the planet and the future of humanity.
We would MOST appreciate your putting this request out to your field of Hausa translators to see if anyone responds to it.
Sincere thanks
Example of text:
Welcome to The Global Archive.
It contains the art work
from every national museum.
Every film, every book,
every scientific report,
all stored on banks of servers.
The amazing thing is,
we had the chance to avert this.
The conditions we are experiencing now
were actually caused by our behaviour
in the period leading up to 2015.
In other words,
we could have saved ourselves,
but we didn't.
