I purpose to gain knowledge and understanding of how kaumatua hand down stories and traditions and how they passed on information to the next generation. This interview will create a sense of continuity, linking the past with the present and the future. The exercise will also give me strategies on how to find out interesting things about my iwi, hapu, family or members of my community, as well as the broader historical past. It will promote intergenerational interaction and understanding. My interview will contributite and assit, in future rescearch projects.
