I am an Applied Foreign Languages graduate (University of Rennes, France)
In my degree I spoke and wrote at a high academic level in both English, French and Spanish. I gave presentations to large classes of fellow students in all three languages which gave me experience as a public speaker. I polished my writing skills delivering essays in each of these languages. I developed a translation expertise producing weekly translations with accurate vocabulary for every topic. The ‘applied’ part of my course provided me an understanding of the professional world open to those who study languages.


Translation Internship at Word Perfect Translation (Cork, Ireland)
For 3 months I've delivered professional translations between French, Spanish, Catalan and English. Attention to detail was essential when translating key documents such as medical reports, civil certificates and judicial reports submitted for evidence. I communicated with a wide array of professionals, across the company and directly to clients. I showed my proficiency using Microsoft office suite to format the translations to the specification of the client. I worked alongside a team of translators, proofreading my colleagues work to ensure a high standard of translation. I demonstrated my leadership skills when coordinating a team of translators to complete different section of a long translation to a set deadline.
