I started taking on translation assignments in 2002. It has been over 5 years of experience with not a single adverse customer feedback. I am proficient in handling Hindi, Marathi and English languages.
My emphasis is on using everyday words rather than going for big or rare literary gems, although I can and have done that too. I am very particular about copyrights. Therefore instead of using pirated software I have purchased Windows XP Home. For word processing I use Open Office suite (free download) which lets me view and edit MS-Office files as well as create PDFs. For Devnagari (Hindi and Marathi) I use the Kruti Dev 010 font which is available as free download on the internet.
I have a regular job with a software company. I love to work with languages. If I am able to earn out of this hobby, that's just great. I work on weekends and can complete about 15 source pages over the two days.
Pricing / Other services
My rates are USD 0.03 (Three cents) per source word for translation assignments. I charge a minimum of $10.00 and accept payments via PayPal, US dollar checks, US bank transfers, Indian rupee checks and Indian bank transfers.
