Career / Experience

I graduated with an M.A. in English from the Jagiellonian University in 1990. I have been a freelance translator since 1996. In 1998, I obtained the right to practise as a sworn English-Polish translator.
As a sworn translator, to date I have completed approx. 600 jobs, including BDM certificates, school certificates, letters of reference, diplomas, court judgments, notarial deeds, powers of attorney, PAYE forms, vehicle registration certificates, minutes of board meetings, ministerial decisions, articles of association, and various contracts.
I generally work with texts relating to business, economics, and related fields. My track record includes annual reports, annual financial statements, management reports, auditor’s reports, company profiles, background reports on Poland’s economy, various internal company documents such as SWOT analyses, analyses of assets, liabilities, or of financial ratios, income and costs forecasts as well as supply contracts, loan agreements, sections of acts, ordinances and EU directives. I also have experience translating email commercial correspondence to tight deadlines, i.e. delivering translated material within the same day. As for other fields, I have translated a number of material safety data sheets and product data sheets for paints and coatings.
I have occasionally translated into English relatively non-complicated technical texts relating, for example, to household chemicals, wood windows, winter gardens, end mills, and electric motors.

Since 1999, I have been providing comprehensive translation services for Sigmakalon’s Cieszyn Branch - a manufacturer of paints and coatings (reference available upon request).
