I have ten years' experience in the legal field as a student and subsequently in post-graduate academia.
I have worked specifically as a legal translator since 2000. I translate legal texts only, and can handle any legal text in the languages offered of any complexity. My experience in this sector is broad, having translated legislation, court judgments, court submissions, attorney-client correspondence and academic articles.
Samples and/or tests available on request.
Clients include multinational corporations, international publishing houses, government agencies, international organisations, national and international courts, private clients and university professors. I work both directly with clients and through agencies. Numerous translations have been published.
Qualifications in law:
1. LLB Degree in Scots Law and German Law (University of Aberdeen, 2002), 1st Class Honours
2. DEA Masters degree in Legal Theory (European Academy of Legal Theory, Brussels, 2003), magna cum laudae
3. MRes Masters degree in legal research (European University Institute, Florence, 2004)
4. PhD Doctorate in Law (European University Institute, Florence, 2007)

Pricing / Other services
Since I work for clients in a range of countries (throughout Europe and North America) I have no uniform billing system.
I charge fair and competitive market rates for specialist legal translations.
