Academic Background:
My academic background is concentrated on Asian languages and cultures (Mandarin and Hindi). I am currently a PhD candidate in the Oriental Studies Department at Oxford University. I received my MA at Harvard University in 2006 where I specialized in contemporary Chinese Literature. I hold a BA (hons.) in Chinese (Modern and Classical) from the School of Oriental and African Studies in London and have attended Beijing Shifan Daxue (Beijing Normal University) also.

I was brought up bilingual: Norwegian and English, and acquired my European language skills and qualifications through school, work and travel. I have academic qualifications in all the languages I currently translate from. Please feel free to contact me with any questions!

   Pricing / Other services

My rate for Chinese (Mandarin. Full form or Simplified characters) is $50 USD per 1000 characters for standard projects of 1000 characters or more.

French, Norwegian or Swedish to English $45 USD per 1000 words.

Chinese to French, Norwegian or Swedish $60 per 1000 characters, again for standard projects of 1000 words or more.

I have impeccable grammar and spelling and am available for proofreading, editing and copywriting services that will make any project sharp, elegant and compelling.
