Career / Experience

I specialize in contracts, annual financial statements, trade register excerpts, official documents, certificates, diplomas, patent declarations, legal judgements, and just about anything else to do with accounting, finance, business and law. I have also translated a number of IT-related documents, such as contracts, quotes, etc.

My expertise in these areas comes from having a degree in accounting and finance and from many years experience in the American business world as a financial analyst, accountant, real estate broker, options trader, etc. One of my major recent assignments was a derivatives-trading manual for a prominent private bank based in Cologne.

As I happen to be an aspiring writer/scriptwriter on the side, I am also willing and able to translate texts having to do with journalism, politics, fiction, advertising, etc. I was recently asked to translate the script for a soon-to-be aired German TV-movie.

I am most familiar with the nuances of American English, but am able to adjust to British English as well. My knowledge of German is excellent, since I grew up speaking it as a second language in Vienna, Austria.

My normal rate is 1 EUR per line (English text, 55 characters per line.), with a possible surcharge for rush jobs and particularly complex texts, payable within 30 days.
