PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

1997/1998 Translator-Interpreter, of English and Spanish for several import-export companies and the Court of Law in Madrid. Translated commercial documents, business reports and legal documents. Acted as an interpreter with the Board of Directors and the Criminal Law division of the Castille Court of Law i
Madrid. I performed video subtitling (Big Brother documentary film) for a translation company in Madrid.
1998/1999 Teacher, the European Institute, Madrid, Spain.
Instructed adults and high-school students in English and French as a second language.
1999/2001 Teacher assistant, Anderson Elementary School, Compton, Los Angeles, California, USA. Instructed first-grade students in multiple subjects (English,mathematics, social studies, science, reading and writing). Assisted school administration in translating written communications from English into Spanish.
2002/2003 Medical and Legal Interpreter, with Interpreting Services of America Inc (ISA), Hollywood, California. I visited various medical clinics, hospitals & court buildings in Los Angeles to interpret for Spanish-speaking clients, assisting primarily with work compensation cases, medical consultations and depositions. I performed project management duties at the company’s office located in Hollywood. My tasks included placing interpreting assignments with interpreters employed by the company & handling calls from clients, medical clinics & hospitals.
2003/2004 Translator-Interpreter for the Centre International d’Antibes, in Antibes, France. Served as interpreter and translated promotional, educational and instructional materials (pamphlets etc).
2004/present Full-time Freelance Translator, Editor I have several clients in Europe and Spain.
