Career / Experience

I graduated with a BA (Hons) in Modern Languages (French with Spanish) in 1998 and obtained a translation certificate from Words Language Services in 2001. I began working as a freelance translator in October 2004 and have translated a variety of document types since then. In order to improve the speed and efficiency of my translation work, I purchased the CAT tool 'Wordfast' in July 2007; I have since been learning how to use this tool and now use it regularly to carry out translation jobs. In order to maintain and improve my knowledge of the languages that I translate from, I regularly watch films, listen to the radio and read literature in these languages. I also maintain and improve my knowledge of the subjects that I specialise in by reading related books and carrying out internet research.
I am a full member of the North West Translator's Network in the U.K.

   Pricing / Other services

I currently charge 0.09 Euros per word for translation work, though this may change depending on the subject matter and the format of the source text.

I also offer a proof-reading and desk-top publishing service.

The rate I charge for proof-reading work is currently 0.009 Euros per word.

Desk-top publishing is charged at an hourly rate; this is currently £9 per hour.
