Dear Translation Outsourcer,

The decision to outsource translation is often made to make a better use of your resources. For this, the outsourcer (i.e. you) needs to know the job is being handled by a reliable and competent individual. What is more, this individual must be someone with significant work experience in both languages and in the subject matter being translated.

Allow me to introduce my self, my name is Sergio and I can be your translation provider. As a graduate student at the University of Texas and a former Legislative analyst for the Texas Senate, I am aware of legal and business terminology on both the United States and Mexico. What is more, as a native Spanish writer and a daily reader of Mexican media, I can provide more than a literal translation for your project-- I can provide a translation that can be understood by the average Spanish speaker in Mexico and the United States.

My experience goes from translating documents at the local Hispanic Chamber of Commerce to transcribing and translating academic work at the University.

   Pricing / Other services

In general, a translator who is a relatively fast typist can translate 400-600 words per hour or 2,000-3,000 words per day, but this is only a ballpark figure. When working on a highly technical document with few repetitions, or on a handwritten document that is difficult to read, even an experienced translator might produce just a few hundred words per hour. Hence, the price depends on the work being done.
