ABOUT ME
My name is Jenny Streitparth and I am currently launching into the translation business.
I am part of the mother-tongue team of two. My mother, Wendy Streitparth, is my associate and has been a translator for 45 years.
My priority is English > German translations while the subjects mentioned under 'Specilalizations' are based on my studies and work experiences. In addition, I provide German > English and Spanish > German translations up to a certain level. Rest assured that I will only take on work I feel 100% confident about completing to your utmost satisfaction.
I am a native German and English speaker.
Formally educated and trained as a hotel manageress in Germany, I always maintained close links to the British side of my family and spent a lot of time on the “island”. During the past 12 years I have travelled extensively and worked abroad. Most destinations were English-speaking countries, though I did live in Spain for one and a half years, too.
Besides, my partner is a New Zealander. Thus, I have been communicating in English on a daily basis for the past 6 years.
Since I am new to the business, I don’t have any references or accreditations, other than my translator’s certificate, let alone a list of projects, but I:
o am hard-working - > I passed my written exams after studying for only 6 months and passed the final exam 3 months later with three 'excellent' in the oral part
o thrive on researching new fields – > in-depth finance and economy were new to me when I started training; in the meantime, I take great interest in both subjects as well as politics.
Not a great friend of self-advertisement and since I believe characteristics such as precision, punctuality, confidentiality and the likes go without saying, I will leave it at that. Hopefully, I will have more tangible proof of my skills to show you in the near future.
