Both English and Italian are, first and foremost, my mother-tongues.
I have been speaking the 2 languages since I was born. I then perfected my grasp at University.

Firstly, I graduated with a BA (Hons) in Italian.
During the 3 years of my Baccalaureate, I followed "Tecniche della traduzione" (Translation Techniques). I therefore focused on the nuances you must take into consideration when translating.

Wanting to my pursue my studies in the two languages, and thus keep perfecting my mastery, I then embarked on an MA in Anglo-Italian studies. Needless to say, Translating and Deciphering the trickiest of jargon had to be the basis of my studies.

Teaching Italian and English then helped me work with the two language in close contact.
Having had many beginners of one language or the other, I have always had to explain matters in the mother-tongue of the student; thus English or Italian. I have been doing this for the past six years. Only those who have done it will wholly understand how helpful teaching the two languages you translate is.

While I was still reading for my Bachelor's degree I started working as a freelance Interpreter and Translator, which promptly had me hooked. I have, in fact, been doing this all along.

Given the strenuous work it involves, I have recently mainly focused on Translation and Proof-Reading - albeit I do some Interpreting every so often.

I have translated both LITERARY works and TECHNICAL material - ranging from Classics and Contemporary (such as Dickens, McEwan and Moccia) to Manuals (such as Engineering, Construction and Banking).

I work with Maltese, English and Italian.

   Pricing / Other services

I do not like to say I work only for one fixed price. In reality, the price changes according to the length and to the immediacy required; as well as what sort of material the documents would consist of.

However, I usually work with Euro10 per page of 1700 characters.

I respect deadlines. It may seem something irrelevant to say - yet, I have realised that many translators try to bite more than they can chew, thus being forced to ask for extensions. I am utterly against that. A translator must only accept the work he can handle, in order to provide the best services possible.
