I have been working full-time as a freelance translator since February 2007. Work has been evenly balanced between English to Swahili, Kinyarwanda-English and French to English. Much of the work from French, Kinyarwanda has been of a technical nature and recent Swahili and Kinyarwanda texts have included legal agreements, wills, health and safety policies and business policies. In total I have translated over 200,000 words in the current financial year (since April 2009). This is consistent with my work rate over the three previous years since I started working freelance. * Minimum charge is between 25- 60 USD
* Hourly rate is between 30 - 240 USD.
* Translating rate/word is 0.05 - 0.15 USD
* Proofreading/ editing rate/word 0.02 – 0.06 USD
* Transcription hourly rates are 20 - 60 USD
* Please note large scale jobs will get highly discounted rates with similarly high quality.
