It isn’t easy finding a translator whose abilities are up to par with your own necessities.

Because a translator isn’t just someone who speaks several languages and can switch from language to language on a moment’s notice. Sure, expertise in foreign languages is a must, but that’s not all there is to it.
A translator should be a reader, a writer, a linguist: someone who loves languages and understands how they work.
But I digress.
A good translator recognizes different styles, utilizes the appropriate jargons, changes tones when this is called for, and trims what must be trimmed.
One should also know one’s limitations as regards language regionalism; in other words, do not ask a Latin American translator to translate anything into Castilian.
