Career / Experience

In 2011 completed my Bachelor's degree in Translation and Interpretation at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona), with English > < Spanish/Catalan and German > Spanish/Catalan as language combinations. In 1999 I obtained a degree in Biology at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona in the speciality of Plant Physiology and Ecology; in 2000 the Professional Title of Violin at the Conservatori Superior de Música del Liceu (Barcelona). Nowadays I wish to continue directing my career towards the field of translation and to fulfill myself both personally and professionally in this field, possibly very influenced by my family situation: I am mother of three children and together with my partner, German native and English teacher, we share our daily life immersed within different cultures and languages.
Since three years ago I work as a freelance translator for different agencies and fields (legal, pharmacy and biomedicine); last year I started my career as an interpreter in the legal field with the language combinations English>< German. I perfectly combined these freelance jobs with my workplace as an in-house translator in T-Systems Iberia (IT field).
I must point out that both scientific and musical training are very important in the field of translation, since the knowledge in these disciplines, as well as the familiarity with the specific terminology of these areas contribute to the good quality of translations. Moreover, in the context of translation studies, I completed the Legal and Economic speciality (application for the sworn translator title German-Spanish pending).
