I grew up in Spain and France and studied in native schools. My parents were both journalists and we spoke English at home. I have a bachelors' degree in Anthropology and Social Work.
I know how people speak in Spanish and French, expressions, idioms, slang ... as well as English and Catalan. The translations I enjoy the most and excel at are film scripts because I really understand what people are saying.
I have done technical translations although I truly believe to must become highly specialized in one field in order to undestand what youare translating, otherwise it has to be an ingineer, a medical doctor, a biologist, a lawyer, etc...
My gift - due to my international upbringing - is being able to translate what people really mean when they speak.
