Education:
National Diploma in Language Practice (3 years’ full-time translation studies), 1995
Experience:
2000-2006: In-house translator at national daily newspaper in advertising department, doing all kinds of translations e.g. auctions, financial translations, legal notices, private, small-business and corporate advertising, real estate, tourism, etc.
2007-2010: Full-time freelance translator for mostly European and United States translation agencies, in any subject field. I have ample experience in pharmaceutical texts, software localisation, and tourism and business related texts. In 2007, I was the Afrikaans translator for Microsoft Windows Vista.
2010-now: Full-time freelance translator, Netherlands.

Owing to the huge discrepancy between South African rates and internationally accepted rates, I am usually willing to give discounts to South African clients.
