I am a native Finn and I graduated from University of Turku 1986, DDS. Most of the studies were in English, which is also my home language. In addition to my native Finnish I thus have an excellent knowledge of English.
Swedish is the other official language of Finland, and I have an extensive knowledge of the language, through studies and using it at work, both in the public and private sector.
In addition of writing six books in English, I have written one in my native Finnish.

Currently, having substantially lightened my workload at my private dental office, I have been doing freelance translating for a wide variety of customers.
My language pairs are Finnish<>English, Finnish<>Swedish, and Swedish<>English.
I excel in scientific, medical and legal translations, but am glad to work, and have worked on, other specialty related translations, including technical.

I use OmegaT when needed.
My current basic rate is 0.0852 USD/word, more for specialties, or a flat fee.

My rates vary depending on the scale and specialty, if any, of the text to be translated.
Lately my best price has been around 0.085/word English to Finnish.
On the other hand I recently did a medical short translation for a price of 0.12€/word, English to Finnish.
