Career / Experience

I am a translator and conference interpreter. For 3 years, I worked as a localisation specialist (IT translator). My assignments were the translation and proofreading of software, online help, printed documentation and marketing products such as Autodesk's Mechanical Desktop and Inventor, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe PageMill, WRQ's Reflection for IBM, Sony's DVgate, etc. I was also in charge of training new translators.
Then, I worked as project manager for 1.5 year. My main task was the follow-up of translation projects (scheduling, resource management, answering questions from translators/customers, solving possible problems, final quality assurance) according to the budget. My main customers were Mitusbishi, Alcatel and Nokia.
Finally, this year, I took up a course in Conference Interpreting, and now I am both a free-lance translator and conference interpreter.
