I have many years experience of Interpreting. I can speak fluent Urdu/ Hindi, all dialects of Punjabi (Including Sikh Punjabi) and Mir Puri/ Patwari.
I have worked many years in Nurseries, Schools and for the NHS. I have worked in different roles that involved Interpre.ting/ Translating and have worked as a Freelance Interpreter and translator.
I understand the British culture and the different cultures, religions and needs of the Asian’s living in U.K. I have first hand experience living in multi- culture Britain from a very young age and have lived and worked 3 years in Pakistan; therefore can relate and understand the difficulties for newcomer’s to Britain etc.
I have taught ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) and translated words and documents for better understanding for Urdu students. My students benefited with the translations and passed exams with great results.
I understand the depth of confidentiality (under the Data Protection Act 1988) involved in this role and have an up to date CRB/ DBS certificate. I have worked with young children and have interpreted for tribunals such as Child Protection Plans and Child Custody etc.
I am currently studying DPSI (Diploma in Public Service Interpreting) in Law and have a better understanding the law jargon used in courts etc.
Also I am currently working as a Freelance Interpreter and enjoy Interpreting for Hospitals, Clinics, Schools, Courts, Law Centres, Social services and other organisation's that require my services.
