A seasoned team


Over The Word draws on the expertise of its two principals, whose careers are rooted in the world of financial translation. Both of us graduated from prestigious French translation schools and cut our teeth performing various jobs. These ranged from translation itself, which gave us the linguistic expertise necessary for any good translation professional, to that of coordinator-editor, where we not only learned to evaluate and improve the translation of others, but also to launch, monitor and manage highly complex projects. Lastly, we both served as the department heads of a large financial translation office, where we handled the translation of merger and acquisition deals, multilingual employee profit sharing plans, urgent press releases and annual reports every day.

A sector that holds no secrets for us

We have built upon these experiences to learn the key to our business, namely linguistic expertise, a sense of confidentiality and responsiveness. These years of experience also enabled us to become successful players in our field, where we know the other players well. These include translation professionals such as freelancers, translation agencies and corporate translation departments with whom we collaborate rather than compete. They also include other intermediaries in the business, like PR agencies, financial printers, bankers and lawyers whom we help to design and implement the linguistic portion of those projects they have to manage. Lastly, we have formed long-term relationships with a small team of professional translators who, in working with us over the years, have proven their worth in the fields of finance and law and by mastering the field of corporate communications
