ich hätte eine Frage: bezieht sich der Begriff auf das Auto, im Sinne von "frißt wenig Sprit", dann würde ich fuel-saving vorschlagen, oder bezieht sich der Begriff auf den Fahrer/Fahrstil, dann wäre die von mir eingegebene Formulierung angemessen

My comment:

Knauser - Geizhals. So, extremmely petrol consumption, very economical running costs. All these seem a bit too elevated style for Sprit-Knauser! If you want to use the above I would substitute either petrol or diesel for fuel which sounds a bit "pompous" Just a suggestion
