My comment:

I see your problem, the work is not allotted the same way in French and in English. You could say "general contracting" as opposed to various trades (carpentry, plumbing, etc..), or "structural construction". Ideally, you would want a way of combining both, I can't think of one. Your first attempt is as good as any. Here is my contribution.
