Josephine Cassar  See profile asked this question:

Language pair:

Italian > English

Subject:

Arts / Entertainment

Level of diffculty:

Easy / medium

Word or term in question:

carta

Context:

text is about painting so I am wondering if carta=paper would be correct. context:Questo

Keywords:

it also mentions parchment, so what would carta be here?

The answer of   See profile was rated best

(art)/(coated)/(glossy) paper

My comment:

It it actually refers to "carta patinata".

But perhaps, if your context is not all that specific, you should just go with "paper".
