crawling (around) sat based

My comment:

I suppose you could say "crawling around on his/her hands and knees" because what it is implying is that the baby cannot really get off its bottom and thus cannot walk or even stand

shuffling their bottoms

My comment:

bottom shuffling (a normal variant of crawling in which babies sit upright and move on their bottoms)

crawl, sitting

My comment:

I think there should be a comma between the two: Les déplacements se sont la plupart du temps en rampant, assis

en rampant: the bay crawls forwards (or backwards) using it arms just lifting its body from a fully prone position

assis: the baby moves about in a sitting position
