Mio zio, commosso dal grande avvenimento, ad un certo momento non si tenne più e gridò in.

...italiano: "Viva Trieste italiana!" La veridicità di questo episodio è assoluta. Fortunatamente per mio zio, il grido fu attribuito ufficialmente ad un noto giornalista romano il quale si trovava sul balcone, nel gruppo di persone che circondavano l'ambasciatore. Ciononostante mio zio ricevette una solenne tirata d'orecchi dal Presidente Wilson "per essere il fatto accaduto, a prescindere dall'identità dell'autore stesso dell'acclamazione."...I'm not sure if the literal would be the best way to go in this case. Thanks.
