Si realizza qui l'apparente paradosso grazie al quale si incontrano sullo stesso piano la "verità" dei casi narrati nelle tragedie, su cui ognuno piange (e lo stesso Boccaccio nell'Introduzione insisteva sulla veridicità delle storie: IV, Introduzione, 39), e l'estrema letterarietà del "genere" e dello stile. Solo nel "giardino" della brigata, e nella figura di per sé ancipite di Filostrato questo incontro è possibile proprio perché la sua identità antitetica ("vivendo [ ... ] mille morti sento": IV, 2, 2) fa parte della tradizione lirica e dell'autobiografia, ed è tutt'uno con il codice amoroso, a cui continuamente rinvia. |
