In this work we present a didactic proposal for teaching linear algebra based on two compatible theoretical models: emerging models and mathematical modelling. This proposal begin with a problematic situation related to the creation and the use secure passwords, which leads students the construction of the concepts of span and spanning set. The objective is to evaluate this didactic proposal by determining the degree of approximation between the hypothetical learning trajectory (HLT) designed in this study with real learning trajectory (RLT) in the second cycle of experimentation of an investigation based on the design.
