English > French: Book about cholera epidemic in Haiti
- The book is about cholera epidemic in Haiti and how the UN covered up their involvement in the outbreak. Some parts are scientific with explanations about what causes the disease but for the most part it is simply describing what transpired.
It is an ebook so I don't know how many pages it is but the publishers website says it's 320 absolute.
What I would prefer to have would be a resume of each chapter in French. However,if this cannot be done, I would appreciate a quote and a time frame. I don't have a strict deadline. I do not know how long these things typically take. 1 month? 2?
Example of text:
Cholera spread to Cap-Haïtien on October 26. Water problems helped explain why. City water service from Cap-Haïtien’s leading provider was often irregular, and so people resorted to storing water—which, if contaminated by Vibrio cholerae , would transmit the disease to every member of the household. There were also neighborhoods where residents used wells, some of which were nothing more than holes dug near rivers or streams. Still other residents got their water from traveling tankers. The regional epidemiologist had learned that some unscrupulous water sellers in Cap-Haïtien had pumped water into the tankers directly from unprotected sources and then pretended they were delivering treated water.
