Deusch > Englisch: Korrekturlesen eines manschinell übersetzten Buches, ca. 180.000 Wörter
Hallo.
Danke.
Beispieltext:
They pushed their way through the people on the platform and hurried to get to the dry station hall. Inside, numerous electric lamps provided a pleasant brightness, so that the dreary weather could only be seen through the large windows.
As at many stations, there were black boards where work was offered and sought, where announcements, events, advertisements, newspaper clippings and of course timetables could be found.
As always, a great crowd of people formed on such boards. Men and women looking for work, looking for events or news.
In between, an old, bent man with a worn broom tried to master the foliage that was blown in.
"Here somewhere he must be," Cole mumbled to himself.
"Who?" asked Diana.
"The policeman. He wanted to pick us up here."
"What's his name?"
"Glenn Dellaware."
The only uniformed men were station workers. But the many years on the street had trained Nell's eye for policemen in civilian clothes, so that she immediately noticed the blonde man with a striking moustache and dimple in his chin at the entrance gate. That was her policeman.
"There." Nell drew the attention of her two companions to the man.
"That must be him," Cole agreed with her and took the direction.
"Mr Miller-Shepard?" The man came up to them and knocked his coat a little to the side so that the police badge was visible on the inside.
"That's me." Cole and the policeman shook hands. "These are my companions Miss Diana Flanagan," he points to Diana, then to Nell, "And Miss Nell?" He looked at her asking if she would name her last name.
"Just Nell." She smiled politely. Her full name was nobody's business. She had left her last name in the orphanage so that she would leave as little trace as possible. At that time she was afraid that Lorenzo could catch her again, later out of habit.
