Proven Translators
Frédéric Poulin

   INTERVIEW:

Frédéric Poulin
Q.  How did you come to the translation business?

A.  I have always had ease with languages, but at first I didn't want to attend university. After I tried a couple of fields like electrical engineering and computer science, which I didn't like at all, I finally decided to go back to my old passion. As I leave in a bilingual country, I decided to become a translator.

Q.  What was the most critical or challenging situation as a translator and how did you manage it?

A.  The hardest situation for a translator is when you start your business as a freelancer, you have to find contracts, new clients, buy software, hardware and dictionaries. You must be very responsible and well-organized to achieve this and start your business. Short deadlines can also be very demanding.

Q.  What was the funniest event in your career as a translator?

A.  As I recently graduated from university, I don'thave yet any funny event to tell, but I'm sure it will come very soon. :)
