Career/Experience

In the following lines, you will find a brief account of my professional experience as a Sworn Translator of English and as an English Language Teacher that may reveal a great deal about my personality, interests and future goals. I hope you may find this presentation concise while useful and self-explanatory. Thank you...

I graduated as a Sworn Translator of English at the School of Languages, National University of Córdoba (Facultad de Lenguas, Universidad Nacional de Córdoba) in 2006 after completing successfully an intensive, comprehensive 5 year course program. In 2013, I obtained my Degree as an English Language Teacher at the same University so I can now combine my two passions, ie, to translate and teach.

Since I was granted my degree in Translation, I have been working as a freelancer for several local and foreign translation companies and non-translation companies, as well as for private individuals. In 2007, I became part of the Board of Sworn Translators of the Province of Córdoba. My Professional License allows me to certify and legalize legal translations and documents (personal documentation, notarial deeds, certificates, powers) that usually need to be subimitted before domestic and/or foreign authorities, bodies and organizations.

In relation to teaching, I am currently an Assistant Teacher to the Chair Terminology and Documentation and Translation Methods and Procedures at the School of Languages of the National University of Córdoba. This training has provided me with lots of exposure to the most varied type of documents and has "tested" my ability to apply diverse techiques and strategies to solve linguistic and cultural translation problems. With this professional background, I feel now competent to face and successufylly resolve challenging translation and edition assignments.

In terms of my fields of expertise, I mainly specialize in the medical and legal domains, though I also deeply enjoy translating or editing the following genres: education, health care, health and safety, marketing, e-commerce, among others.

As today's world requires "specialized labor-hand", In 2014 I started a postgraduate course with a specialization in Business and Legal Translation to reinforce my academic and professional development. In 2016, I completed the 2 year training program which required the submission of a thesis, which is under evalulation by an academic jury.

I hope I can continue developing my skills and competences related to translation and teaching and to be able to keep on helping people in their linguistic and cultural needs.
