It is commonly believed among many who
consider themselves Evangelical Christians (the
group I like to call ‘Mainstream Christianity’,
those with the most correct beliefs), that the rapture
could have happened since the days of the
Apostles. I will attempt to convince the reader,
with the Lord’s help, that this is an incorrect conclusion
about God’s program.
There are numerous passages in the Bible that
prove beyond a doubt the rapture could not possibly
have happened during any generation since
the time of Christ. The Lord told Peter in John
21:18, “Most assuredly, I say to you, when you
were younger, you girded yourself and walked
where you wished; but when you are old, you will
stretch out your hands, and another will gird you
and carry you where you do not wish.” So Jesus
prophesied here that the rapture could not occur
until after Peter became old. As I stated earlier,
