English > Spanish: Librarian Software Globalization (tokens in tables) 30,000 words
Looking for translation service English to Spanish.
The subject - a list of Resource Strings for Library Management software package (tokens). These tokens relate either to captions on screen controls or messages addressed to the user.
One option of delivery is that the tokens are organised in MS Word files with tables.
Columns: ID, English text, cell for Spanish output; optionally - support column (see below).
Files will be organised by logical themes: Accounting (acquisition of books, invoces, shippments,etc); Librarianship (borrowers, requests, etc);
General Info for Catalogues (countries, languages, genres) and IT (System messages, errors, instructions)
A lot of this stuff can be automatically translated - I don't mind automation if it is properly proofread afterwards. Many tokens, especially IT related, are repetetive in series: the same sentence repeated let's say 12 times in a row with only 1-2 words changed.
Consistency is important. I would insist on you building a Project Glossary for repeating word constructs and sticking to the approved options. I will provide a list of keywords / Key expresiions in english for this Glossary .
I can highlight Key words / expressions in the MS Word text for translation and have approved translation options (from your Glossary) displayed side-by-side in the next table cell.
Some tokens will have placeholders, like ### or $$$ - to be left intact in the same logical position in the translated text.
Volume of the first bunch: 8,000 tokens; 30,000 words.
Timeframe: 4 weeks (negotiable) after go-ahead (could be next week)

If you charge by word - what is your definition of a WORD? For example: "A book on a shelf 123" - how many payable words is there?
