I have two manuals that I need translating from English into Italian. The first is a software user manual for a Windows program used in industrial control. The second is an installation manual describing how to install the hardware into the plant. The equipment is a software controlled infrared scanning system for a cement plant. There are infrared and cement technical terms and I can be contacted by phone or email to help explain where required. The sources are in Word format. The formatting of the Word documents must be maintained as these are used for creating on line help and the help maker uses the control codes in the document. I can help ensure this is done as the manuals are a series of small documents and I can check that these remain compatible as the project progresses. (A previous translation into French posed no problems). The copyright of the translated text must belong to the source owners and all text must be treated as confidential. Deadline for completion of the project is 9th October 2009. Please translate the sample text if you wish to apply for this work. The total word count is 37,000 as measured by Word. Please note that I will only accept translators whose FIRST language (i.e. mother tongue) is Italian. Thanks!

It is vital that the temperature of the Centurion scanner is maintained within its working temperature range (up to 50 degrees Centigrade). In particular the Centurion should be shielded from direct solar radiation by means of a “roof” structure above the mounting location. This should also serve to deflect rain, snow, hail etc. from directly falling on the unit and possibly obscuring the view.
