Spanish > English (US): Novel translation, 70,000 words

This is a novel of about 250-300 pages (A4, double space Microsoft word), 70,000 words written in spanish, lots of slang. We are proof-reading but looking for a translator to start by about October of this year.

We are willing to pay no less than $2,800 and no more than $4,000 according to qualifications and the presence (or not) of an editor in the contract.

People interested should send their resume and we will send 4 pages to be translated in order to evaluate quality. We will not respond to applicants who do not meet the qualifications below:

Applicants must have the following qualifications:
- Formal translating training AND/OR formal language/literature training
- At least one experience translating fictional work that can be verified or purchased online
- Mother language must be English
- The applicant must have an excellent English grammar, style and linguistics. This is NOT a literary translator but a novel to be published

Desirable but NOT mandatory background:
- The applicant is a writer and can show some of his/her work to us
- The applicant is willing to contract an editor
- The applicant can write in American English
- The applicant is familiar with south american slang
