English > Brazilian Portuguese: Non-fiction book (personal memoir), 99,000 words
I'm looking for a translator who can effectively translate a 99,000-word memoir in a style which is representative of the colloquial American style of the English original. A facility for accurate impressionistic translation of poetic, idiomatic, and slang material would be helpful. For Portuguese translation, an emphasis on Brazilian Portuguese would be desirable.

Lately Maddie's been making a distinction between her toy people and their real-life counterparts. There's a toy man in one of her play sets that she used to call "the daddy.” But now she calls it "toy daddy," and I've become "real Daddy." She's been differentiating this way for about a week. Tonight she asked, "Where's real Mommy?" It's the first time she's asked, and I was unprepared.
