Arabic > English: Long-term legal translation work
Dear translator,
I am writing in preparation for a very large contract nearing finalisation. If realised, we need to assemble a team of some 50 translators and approximately 10 proofreaders.
The contract will last 2 years and requires us to translate thousands of legal documents from Arabic into English per month.
We are at this stage looking to build our team and I am writing to you to see if you would be interested in either of the positions below:
a) Translators – we will require full-time dedicated Arabic to English translators working exclusively for us. We will be paying a decent rate but do expect some sort of discount to reflect the fact that we are giving guaranteed, continuous work for 2 years.
b) Proofreaders – we will need a team of proofreaders checking the documents for consistency in terminology, formatting, etc. The use by the team of TRADOS or similar is essential to manage the terminology bank. Uniformity in the target files is paramount. As part of the team we also seek the services of one, possibly two, “head” proofreaders who we are willing to pay on a salary basis.
If you are interested in being part of the team then we need the following:
1) A copy of your current CV
2) An outline of your charges per 1000 words
3) A test translation - this will be emailed to you.
If you have any questions in relation to this, please contact me ASAP via any of the contact details below.
Regards
