Request for translation quotes from freelance translators (no agencies please)
English > German: In Search of Translators
Hi!
We're myGengo, an online translation agency based in Tokyo. We're currently looking for English to German translators to join our worldwide team. We offer competitive rates for both experienced professionals, and for students and bilinguals who may be new to the field.
We’re expecting high demand in German soon, and there are two ways to get qualified:
1) Sign up and take your qualification test at http://mygengo.com/translator and we’ll review your test within a week of submission.
2) Apply for manual qualification by signing up at mygengo.com/translator/, and then mail us at apprXXX@XXXngo.com from the email address you used to sign up. Include a short message and a link or attachment to a verifiable profile, certification or reference and we will fast-track your approval, giving you access to new translation jobs instantly.
Who are we?
myGengo is not a typical translation agency. We provide a user-friendly interface for customers to order short, simple translations online, and receive quality human translation quickly and without administrative hassles.
For translators, myGengo is a place to take on these simple translation jobs whenever you want, providing a simple and low-stress supplementary income on top of your traditional freelance work.

Our Standard Rate looks much lower than what you’re used to. What’s the value of joining myGengo?
It’s free to join, and free to stay registered in our database. There’s no pressure to work on jobs; you are in complete control of your workload. You can also test within our system to gain access to higher level, higher paying translation jobs. Most myGengo translators find that they can match their hourly earning that they would get from traditional jobs, because the system is so efficient.
Take only the jobs you want, when you want:
There’s no need to negotiate rates, send invoices or handle other unpaid administrative tasks. We automatically calculate your rewards, and pay twice a month through PayPal.
Simple texts, requiring little to no unpaid research
We are not a traditional translation agency. We don’t accept specialist texts, and the work we handle can be done quickly, in your spare time.
Advance to Pro or Proofread level
As high level translators, you can take tests to open up higher priority jobs, at a significantly higher rate.
Be a part of something new and different
We’re trying to fill a vital gap in the translation industry. While traditional translation agencies and positions will always be needed for specialist materials, books, large texts and so on, myGengo is geared towards handling the large volume of short and simple “new content” created on the web, including blog posts, and product descriptions for e-commerce websites. We’re also assembling content and resources for translators to contribute and help us create a vibrant community for translators online.
It’s totally free to sign-up, and you can cancel your account any time, so if you’re still skeptical, give it a try and see for yourself! Or read what others think of us online at sites like this: httpXXXXXXXX/tag/mygengo/
If you have any questions or need further information from us, please send us an email at approval@mygengo.com. Thanks for your time, and I hope to hear from you soon!
Best Regards,
Chris Nelson
