Freelance Japanese - English Translation Checkers required for Varied Subjects- Ongoing Project – ISO certified company
We are currently hiring Subject expertise Translation Checkers in various fields.
Requirements:
• Should be a native speaker of either Japanese or English language with proven Japanese skills.
• 3 years of relevant translation experience from Japanese <> English translation.
• Fully bilingual or bicultural applicants will be preferred.
• Well-read, knowledgeable and academically oriented.
• Technically proficient (should be able to do effective online research, especially for terminology). Should be familiar with commonly used translation and terminology databases.
• We deal primarily with academic as well as business/general translations from Japanese to English, and seek skilled Translation Checkers (which is also known as Translation Proofreading or Translation QA).
• You are required to have high-speed internet connectivity and be fully available via phone and e-mail during working hours.
Responsibilities:
• Translation-checking from Japanese to English translation.
• Evaluation of new translators and periodic assessment of existing translators (Quality Management).
• Giving appropriate feedback to translators to promote learning and improve performance.
• Preparation of guidelines for translators.
