setting up the laser Tracker

The Laser Tracker head ships in a storage container by itself. The Master Control Unit (MCU), cables, Spherically Mounted Retroreflector (SMR), tooling, and mounting hardware ship in a second storage container.

The Laser Tracker mounts on an instrument stand in either the vertical or the horizontal positions. The Laser Tracker operates in any orientation.

To setup the laser Tracker, follow these steps:

1. Place the instrument stand on a stable floor surface, away from obstructions. Ensure that the instrument stand rests on its adjusting pins.

2. Tighten the quick release mandrel to the instrument stand using the supplied spanner wrench.


It is not recommended to place the Tracker on a stand that is tilted more than

10° from vertical.



3. Grasp the front handles of the Laser Tracker and remove the Laser
Tracker from the container.

4. Place the Laser Tracker on the instrument stand by means of the mandrel mount inserted into the Laser Tracker base.

5. Turn the locking lever clockwise (when viewed from above) by hand until it is tight. The Laser Tracker locks in position.

6. Connect the air temperature sensor to the MCU.
