We are currently hiring freelance Translation Checkers for English to Japanese translation in the subject area: Life Sciences (Biochemistry, Botany, Bioscience, Zoology, Genetics, Forestry, Agriculture, Microbiology etc.)
We are currently hiring Subject expertise Translation Checkers in the field of Life Sciences.
Requirements:
• Should be a native speaker of Japanese language with proven Japanese skills
• 3 years of relevant translation experience from Japanese <> English translation in the field of Life Sciences.
• Fully bilingual or bicultural applicants will be preferred
• Well-read, knowledgeable and academically oriented
• Technically proficient (should be able to do effective online research, especially for terminology). Should be familiar with commonly used translation and terminology databases
• We deal primarily with academic as well as business/general translations, and seek skilled Translation Checkers (which is also known as Translation Proofreading or Translation QA).
• You are required to have high-speed internet connectivity and be fully available via phone and e-mail during working hours.
Responsibilities:
• Translation-checking from English to Japanese translation.
• Evaluation of new translators and periodic assessment of existing translators (Quality Management)
• Giving appropriate feedback to translators to promote learning and improve performance
• Preparation of guidelines for translators
