English > Hindi: Required English to Native Hindi Freelance Translators

A leading provider of quality subtitling, closed captioning and translation services for major motion picture studios, film festivals, broadcast and cable networks, is seeking:

Urgently require HINDI freelance translators based in India

Main Duties:
 Translating from English to the required native language
 Proofreading

Education, Experience and Competencies:
Candidates must meet the following criteria:
 Be native speakers of the target language
 Possess a strong knowledge of the English language (knowledge of other languages is an asset)
 Have a bachelor degree and/or experience related to Translation, Literature, Journalism or Communication
 Be computer-oriented and have sound knowledge of the MS Office Suite
 Be organized, priority-focused, dynamic, independent and resourceful
 Must respond well under the pressure of deadlines
 Have affinity for North American cinema and television
Other Requirements

Candidates must be available at least 10 hours per week and possess a PC (MAC and Virtual PC are not compatible with our software).

Our minimum computer and internet requirements are:

 Windows XP or Windows Vista with 1 GB RAM
 DSL with minimum download 256/upload 128 speed or Cable with 1 MB

Important notes: (Kindly confirm it in the mail)
* You should have technical knowledge about how to upgrade or install any new software in your PC (i.e. our proprietary software).And you must be open to learn the usage of our unique Software.
* Subtitling translation is different from technical translation; one should have the flow to make sense of the dialogues/script with punctuations. Once work assigned you should be able to translate 500subtitles max during rush time. Otherwise a 30 minutes long video or script would have around 60 subtitles to do.
* As per the company policy, the translators need to go through Proof Training which will be long and tedious ,you will have to pass the proof training proficiency test to check on the eye for details on errors and grammatical mistakes to go further to be in the pool of translators.
* One should have typing efficiency in Hindi or should be willing to learn ASAP.
* Adhere to the deadlines and be open to constant feedbacks from the trainers and evaluators for Quality purpose.
