Summaries of EU legislation

Dear Linguist,

We are currently bidding for the latest tender of one of our clients. This long-term project will involve the translation of documents from French and English into a large number of European languages. In addition to translation the work will consist of more activities

1)The scope of the work is:

Editorial, graphical and technical assistance in design, production, translation and maintenance of the collection of documents in English and French (source languages).

2)The object of this contract is the:
• drafting
• redrafting
• updating
• translating
• correcting
-to ensure that the collection of summaries, glossary items and introductory texts are up-to-date, homogeneous and reflect European law and policies.

In addition, it would consist of translation from EN and/or FR into the other 22 EU languages.

3)The profile of linguists that we are looking for is:
• native in the target language / fluent in the source language
• a university degree or equivalent in translation // OR a language plus 3 years full time translation experience // OR a university degree or equivalent in any discipline plus 4 years full time translation experience
• thorough knowledge in European institutes and governmental bodies / Experience with European law is preferred
• (extensive) experience translating/working with European institute/governmental body documents
• journalistic experience and/or legal experience
